What’s SKILL-IN?

SKILL-IN is a one-on-one, flexible program designed to support individuals facing multiple barriers to employment. Whether in-person, virtual, or hybrid, we provide short-term occupational training, paid work experiences, and wraparound employment services to help participants gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed. From newcomers building Canadian experience to survivors of violence or individuals with diverse abilities, you’ll play a key role in shaping brighter futures!

What You’ll Be Doing:

🔹 Career Coaching & Employment Support

• Work closely with diverse individuals to create personalized      training and employment plans.
• Provide hands-on job search support, pre-employment coaching, and      post-hire assistance.
• Offer encouragement, motivation, and expert guidance to help      participants thrive.

🔹 Skills Training & Development

• Design and deliver engaging Soft Skills and Skills for Success      training sessions.
• Guide participants in selecting and accessing occupational or      on-the-job training.
• Research labour market trends and help secure training      opportunities.

🔹 Job Development & Employer Engagement

• Be a job matchmaker! Connect participants with the right employers.
• Arrange interviews, negotiate work placements, and provide      on-the-job coaching.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with employers and      community partners.
• Help us hit our team targets and celebrate every success along the      way!

🔹 Financial & Administrative Support

• Assess participant financial needs and provide assistance to      support training and employment.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records (we know, paperwork      isn’t glamorous, but it’s important!).

What You Bring to the Table:

✅ A post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in a relevant field (career development, vocational rehab, social work, human services, education, Indigenous studies, etc.).
✅ Understanding of barriers Indigenous people face in employment and education.
✅ A commitment to inclusivity and empowerment for all individuals.
✅ Professional designations like CCDP or RRP (or working toward one) are a plus!
✅ A strong knowledge of labour markets and local employment trends.
✅ A valid driver’s license & reliable transportation (for employer and client visits).
✅ Ability to work toward outcomes and meet deadlines while keeping a positive, can-do attitude!
